Marine Cultural Health Programme

As part of the development of Te Whiti (6 Wharf), Napier Port in partnership with mana whenua hapū of Ahuriri set in place a framework to monitor the health of Te Matau-a-Māui. This initiative has been brought to life as Tangaroa Tohu Mana, Tangaroa Tohu Mauri – the Marine Cultural Health Programme. Coast & Co’s involvement in this kaupapa was to create visual assets to bring substance to the framework by digitising pou and creating waitohu (icons). These were then used in the design of a pukapuka (document) and supporting collateral for use at key touchpoints. Further information about the Marine Cultural Health Programme can be found here.

“I enjoyed working with Jason and the Coast & Co team. Their team valued the importance of te a Māori and respected the process we had gone through in developing the Marine Cultural Health Programme. Through Coast and Co we have visually bought our programme to life.”
